Song Writing Competition

  1. The contest is open to all students enrolled in the Psychology program for the SY 2020-2021. Submit a scanned copy of your school’s enrollment form to the PAP.
  2. A school may send two (2) song entries to the competition.
  3. It must be endorsed by the Chair of the Psychology Department/program of the school.
  4. The song must bear on the theme of PAPJA 2021, which is, “Transitioning to the New Normal through Healing and Recovery.”
  5. It must be a pop song, and you are free to create your style or genre. It can be Pop Commercial, R and B and Novelty genre, etc.
  6. The entry must be original unpublished/unreleased musical composition in English or Filipino or Taglish.
  7. It can be a collaborative effort of the composer and the arranger.
  8. It should be recorded by a neophyte or a professional singer in a guitar accompaniment or complete orchestra.
  9. Upload your song/s at https://www.papjaph.com as mp3s and must not exceed 3.5 minutes in length. Please note: PAP downloads all songs from the website given to PAPJA using a software program, so it will not show up as having been played.
  10. Upload also a picture of the endorsement letter of the Chair of the Psychology department/program of the school and the lyrics of the song (s).
  11. You will be notified in advance if your song composition entry is accepted and entered in the screening round that will proceed to the final competition on April 08, 2021.
  12. Deadline of submission of entry is on April 15, 2021. Announcement of Winners is on May 07, 2021. The top three winners will be the property of the PAP.
